GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A year-long enmity between two families in the Nawa district of southern Ghazni province, has turned into peace as a result of mediation by tribal elders, religious scholars, and local officials.
Police spokesman Abu Khalid Sarhadi told Pajhwok Afghan News that an enmity between two families of Matakhel area had surfaced over a land dispute which resulted in the killing of one individual last year.
He said the feud between the two families had ended following mediation efforts by tribal elders, religious scholars and local officials.
According to him, both men of conflicting families hugged each other and promised to live peacefully and in brotherhood.
Sarhadi said the government was striving to end all such enmities and convert them into friendship.
Mohammad Abid, a tribal elder of the area, told Pajhwok that the government and tribal elders should end such feuds through talks and mediation.
