Philippine President's Approval, Trust Ratings Dip In June Survey

MANILA, Jul 17 (NNN-PNA) – The approval and trust ratings of Philippine President, Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, dropped, while Vice President, Sara Duterte, rose slightly, according to the latest national survey released today.
An independent survey by Pulse Asia Inc., conducted in mid-June, with 2,400 people aged 18 and above, found that 53 percent of the respondents approved of Marcos' performance, down from the 55 percent he earned in the March survey. Marcos' trust rating also dipped to 52 percent in June, from 57 percent in March.
In June, Sara Duterte's approval rating was 69 percent, higher than the 67 percent rating she received in March. Her trust rating remained unchanged at 71 percent.
“Appreciation continues to be the prevailing sentiment towards the work done by the president and the vice president,” Pulse Asia said.
The survey was conducted two days after the vice president resigned from Marcos' cabinet on June 19. According to Pulse Asia, her departure signals the end of the Marcos-Duterte political alliance, forged during the May, 2022 elections.– NNN-PNA
