Ukraine's Energy Minister Talks With EBRD Of Upping Aid To Distributed Generation


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Minister of energy German Galushchenko held a meeting with the delegation from the European bank for Reconstruction and Development, headed by Managing Director for Ukraine and Moldova, Arvid Türkner.

This was reported by the Ministry's press service , Ukrinform reports.

"The parties discussed the instruments and specifics of providing financial assistance to Ukraine for the purchase of energy generating equipment, including the areas of the implementation of the memorandum signed between the EBRD and the Government of Ukraine on the allocation of EUR 300 million to this end," the report reads.

Emphasis was placed on the need to purchase and install equipment for distributed generation as soon as possible for its commissioning ahead of the upcoming winter.

The parties paid special attention to the protection of energy facilities and importance of implementing the points of the Peace Formula put forward by President Volodymyr Zelensky to ensure energy security.

As reported, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are planning further investments in Ukraine's economy, taking into account war risks and trying to evenly distribute funds between the public and private sectors.

Since the outset of the full-scale war, the EBRD has invested more than EUR 4 billion in Ukraine to support both the public and private sectors.
