UAE, Syria foreign ministers convene in Abu Dhabi to advance bilateral cooperation


(MENAFN) An Emirates-based news agency reported on Thursday that Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, convened a crucial meeting with Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Faisal Mekdad, in Abu Dhabi. The meeting, held over a working dinner, focused extensively on strengthening bilateral ties across diverse sectors, with a particular emphasis on developmental cooperation aimed at advancing mutual interests.

During the discussions, Sheikh Abdullah underscored the longstanding fraternal relations between the UAE and Syria, emphasizing their joint commitment to deepening cooperation for the benefit of both nations. The ministers exchanged views on various regional and international developments, especially within the Middle East, highlighting the importance of collective Arab efforts in fostering sustainable stability and addressing the developmental aspirations of the region's populations.

The presence of Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al-Marar and UAE Ambassador to Syria Hassan Ahmed Al-Shehhi at the meeting further underscored its significance.
