UN reaffirms commitment to humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza amid current genocide


(MENAFN) Martin Griffiths, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and UN Emergency Relief Coordinator, reiterated the UN's steadfast commitment to providing essential humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza, despite facing numerous significant challenges in the region. Speaking at the United Nations, Griffiths emphasized the continuous efforts of UN humanitarian teams and their partner organizations to deliver life-saving aid amidst difficult circumstances on the ground.

Griffiths highlighted ongoing negotiations with Israeli authorities and other stakeholders, supported by the United States, aimed at establishing safe conditions for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza residents. He underscored the UN's deep concern over the severe security situation in Gaza, which he described as increasingly challenging for humanitarian operations.
