Czech Ambassador Shares Insights On Demiragac Park

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. I am proud to say that today I have a great honor to tell about the "Demiragac Park," which has become a symbol of friendship between the Czech and Azerbaijani peoples, located in a beautiful corner of Azerbaijan and considered the birthplace of ironwood in Lankaran district, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan Milan Sedláček told reporters, Trend reports.

"In 2023, we planted 100 ironwood trees here for the first time together with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. And this year, with great enthusiasm within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" and COP 29 to be held in Azerbaijan, having carried out works on the expansion of "Demiragac Park," we planted 101 more trees in April.

The love of people for nature in Azerbaijan, the large number of people willing to plant trees, and their great enthusiasm to participate in such events make me very happy. I believe that holding tree planting events every year will contribute to the further expansion of "Demiragac Park," the strengthening of cooperation on environmental protection, and the further strengthening of friendly relations between our nations," the ambassador noted.

The diplomat mentioned that representatives of the Embassy, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, officials of the Executive Power of Lankaran City, students, and residents of the district directly participated in the laying of "Demiragac Park".

"It is pleasing that in the iron tree park we jointly created, the percentage of sprouting is 100 percent.

I am sure that years later, the iron tree park we created will turn into a big forest and will be remembered as another sign of friendship between our nations. I consider it a contribution to the large-scale activities in the field of ecology and greening carried out in Azerbaijan and consider it a great success," he emphasized.

The Ambassador also noted that along with the establishment of "Demiragac Park," to organize ecotourism activities in Azerbaijan following more modern standards, starting in 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, within the framework of the cooperation program with the Embassy, held an event on marking the tourist trail following the "Czech model," and tourist routes were marked with new signs.

Ambassador Milan Sedláček added that the cooperation between the two countries on environmental protection will continue to be successful, and the friendship between the two nations will be like ironwood, long-lasting and durable.
