First Pilgrims Of Qatar Arrive In Holy Lands

Doha, Qatar: The first pilgrims of the State of Qatar have arrived in the holy lands of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj prescribed rituals. Several flights of Qatar and Saudi Airways departed Hamad International Airport with pilgrims onboard, while the arrival of other regiments is expected to complete on Wednesday.

In a statement, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs said the pilgrims of Qatar are distributed to 19 certified campaigns operating with their entire administrative and technical crew to serve the pilgrims of the state in Makkah Al Mukaramah and the holy sites during the pilgrimage season.

The statement added that the Department of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry of Endowments has been committed to coordinating with all relevant bodies to finalise the travel measures of pilgrims more expeditiously, with the Qatar Airways offering the facilitations of receiving the pilgrims luggage, 24 hours prior to their travel, as per flight itineraries of each campaign, and finally the receipt of the pilgrims' boarding cards in order for them to move to the airport on the travel day more comfortably.

The Qatar Airways has dedicated counters to finalise the travel measures in collaboration with Qatari cadres available in the Saudi airports to directly operate in Interoperability approach to help the pilgrims arrive in the Saudi lands more easily, the statement can confirm.

The Ministry of Endowments pointed out that the Qatari Hajj Mission in the holy lands is operating will all supporting units and professional committees to serve the state pilgrims and campaigns, in addition to harnessing all efforts and potential to help them perform the fifth pillar and all pilgrimage rites in best conditions.

For their part, several of pilgrims of Qatar thanked the Qatari Hajj Mission for the unwavering efforts to help them flock to the holy lands and praised the efforts made to streamline their exit measures, receipt of luggage and embarking on buses in coordination with the campaign representatives until their arrival at their residential compounds in Makkah Al Mukaramah.

The pilgrims commended the positive collaboration of the competent authorities in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which resulted in swift finalisation of measures for the service of pilgrims.
