Eid Al Adha 2024: UAE Announces Public Sector Holidays

Paid holidays will be given to employees in the UAE's public sector from Saturday, June 15, until Tuesday, June 18, in observance of Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha.
The Federal Authority of Human Resources confirmed the dates in an announcement on Saturday.
Arafah Day, the holiest day in Islam marked on Dhul Hijjah 9, falls on June 15 - while the three-day Eid Al Adha holiday (Dhul Hijjah 10 to 12) will officially be marked on June 16 to 18. Thus, the break is four days long.
Employees in the private sector will enjoy the long weekend on the same dates.

On Thursday, authorities in Saudi Arabia announced that the crescent Moon was spotted , indicating that the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah begins on June 7. For the kingdom, Eid Al Adha will also begin on June 16.
Other countries - like Oman, India, and Pakistan - are marking the first day of the festival on June 17, based on Moon observations.
