Amir Meets President Of Ukraine

Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met today, June 5, at his office in Lusail Palace with the President of Ukraine HE Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting dealt with the latest developments in Ukraine, especially the efforts of the international community to stop the fighting and protect civilians, and keep all channels of communication open to resolve the crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means, in addition to discussing bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for strengthening them.

His Excellency the Ukrainian President also thanked HH the Amir for the State of Qatar's efforts for reuniting Ukrainian children with their families in Ukraine, as part of its ongoing mediation aimed at reuniting families separated by the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani; Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; and Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater attended the meeting along with a lineup of senior officials.

On the Ukrainian side, the meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine HE Andrii Kuzmenko and senior officials members of the official accompanying delegation.

HH the Amir and the Ukrainian President held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed the overall cooperation relations between the two countries, in addition to discussing a host of issues of common concern.

HH the Amir hosted a dinner banquet in honour of HE President of Ukraine and his accompanying delegation.
