Amman, June 4 (Petra) Over 16,000 innocent Palestinian children were killed in Gaza by the Israel army since last October 7, constituting a third of the victims of the brutal Israeli aggression on the coastal strip, in addition to over 120 child martyrs in the West Bank, Secretary-General of Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA), Abdullah Kanaan, said.
In remarks to "Petra" on International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, which falls on June 4 annually and decided in 1982 due to the suffering of the Palestinian child, Kanaan noted this international occasion exposes the Israeli occupation, adding that toll of Palestinian child victims is a stain on conscience of supporters to the Israeli occupation and its crimes.
Kanaan said this situation in Palestine indicates that genocide, ethnic cleansing, and annihilation of the human identity are the goals and essence of Zionist plans.
On this occasion, he said RCJA appeals to international human rights and humanitarian organizations to "quickly" save childhood in Palestine.
Under Royal directives, he stated that Jordan has worked to implement multiple programs and initiatives, and is still making efforts at the educational, health and relief levels to contribute to saving the Palestinian child, women and the elderly, who are being exposed in Gaza, Jerusalem and all the Palestinian cities to severe types of torture.
Kanaan added that Jordanian people and Hashemite leadership, which has historic custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites, will continue to support Palestinian people at all costs.
