Haj Tawfiq Elected Vice President Of Arab-German Commerce Chamber

Amman, June 4 (Petra) - Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Khalil Haj Tawfiq, won the position of third vice president of the German Arab Chamber of
industry and Commerce (GACIC), on the Arab side, in the
elections that took place Monday in Berlin.
During its meeting, the GACIC General Assembly re-elected the 62 Arab and German members in the chamber's board of Directors, including 28 Arab representatives and 34 others representing the German side.
In a statement Tuesday, Haj Tawfiq expressed thanks and appreciation to the president, members and secretary-general of the Union of Arab Chambers for their unanimous support for his nomination to the post.
Haj Tawfiq invited the GACIC president and members to visit Jordan to convene their meeting for the first time outside Germany, aimed to develop and strengthen Arab-German economic relations, meet with the Jordanian business community, and closely examine the investment opportunities available in the Kingdom.
According to Haj Tawfiq, who also won last year the position of French-Arab Chamber of Commerce, GACIC is one of the "strongest" bodies in the 16 joint Arab-foreign chambers.
Established in 1976, GACIC aims to build bridges of economic cooperation between Germany and the Arab countries.
In 2023, volume of Arab-German trade exchange reached ?62 billion, as per official data.
