Al-Fadhli: Arab Environment Forum Fosters Unity In Restoring Land

The third edition of the Arab Environment Forum held in Riyadh under the themed“Restore Land to Build Resilience,”. Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability was on full display at the forum brought together regional and international experts to address critical land degradation challenges.

Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, emphasized the Kingdom's dedication, with strong leadership support, to combating land degradation. Minister Al-Fadhli highlighted several key initiatives:

  • Strengthening communities and ecosystems to withstand drought and restore degraded landscapes.
  • Pioneering national programs like the Saudi and Middle East Green Initiatives, which promote regional collaboration in crucial areas like vegetation preservation, biodiversity enhancement, and food and water security, all while adapting to climate change and fostering a better quality of life.
  • Playing a significant role in developing global initiatives to tackle land degradation, habitat loss, and coral reef conservation.

Following the opening ceremony, Minister Al-Fadhli toured a comprehensive environmental exhibition showcasing solutions and advancements from a wide range of public, private, and civil society organizations. This exhibition served as a testament to the collective effort towards a more sustainable future for our planet.
