Major Part Of Updating General Plans For Azerbaijani Cities Completed - Chairman Of State Committee For Urban Planning

To date, we havecompleted a major part of the updating of general plans for 79cities in Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee for UrbanPlanning and Architecture of Azerbaijan Anar Guliyev said duringthe second Sea Breeze Investment Forum dedicated to opportunitiesfor corporate and private investments in real estate, Trend reports.

“To date, we have completed most of the updating of master plansfor 79 cities in Azerbaijan. The capital, Baku, of course, occupiesa special place. It is the country's largest city, both in terms ofarea and population. Baku plays a significant role in the economyand many other spheres of life. Today, Baku is successfullydeveloping according to the new general plan, which is a roadmapfor the capital's development until 2040. Previously, the city wasmonocentric, with most administrative and cultural functionsconcentrated in the center. However, the new master plan sets thegoal of polycentric development,” he said.
