(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Baku Initiative Groupand Tavini Huiraatira Party of French Polynesia have widelydiscussed ways to further develop cooperation during a meeting heldat the group's headquarters, Trend reports.

The parties also discussed ways to continue practical activitiesin various fields.

The meeting once again emphasized the importance of thememorandum of cooperation signed between the parties during theconference "Decolonization Path: Consequences of Assimilation andits Impact on the Realization of Human Rights," held on April 30this year at the UN Office in Vienna.

Moreover, Azerbaijan's role in the fight against colonialism washighly praised.

The delegation from French Polynesia once again expressedgratitude to Azerbaijan for the support provided to countriesduring the decolonization process.

The Initiative Group's Executive Director Abbas Abbasov pointedout that his organization will continue to support the fairstruggle of peoples seeking liberation from colonialism.
