(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Germany supportsAzerbaijan in reconstruction efforts, Ambassador of Germany toAzerbaijan Ralph Horlemann said on X, Trend reports.

“I saw today the great work of the Delegation of theInternational Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Barda supportingpeople in Karabakh. Living close to the former Line of Contact hasbeen challenging for many people; the risk of mines still poses adanger in many places. Germany supports Azerbaijan in itsreconstruction efforts,” the ambassador's post reads.

Following the liberation of its lands, Azerbaijan beganoperations in November 2020 to clean its lands of mines, boobytraps, and other weaponry left behind by illegal Armenianforces.

During demining operations carried out by the AzerbaijanNational Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), the Ministry of Defense,the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Border Servicefrom May 20 to 26, 2024, in liberated territories, 172anti-personnel mines, 32 anti-tank mines, and 274 unexplodedordnances were discovered and neutralized. A total of 1,164hectares of land were cleared of mines.
