Azerbaijani Parliament Committee Slams Biased Resolution Of Luxembourg Chamber Of Deputies

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17. The Committee onInternational Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Affairs of theAzerbaijani Parliament strongly condemns the prejudiced andnon-objective resolution passed by the Chamber of Deputies ofLuxembourg against Azerbaijan on May 16, Trend reports via thecommittee's statement.

The statement made note of the fact that the resolutiondisregards the facts surrounding Azerbaijan's Karabakh region, theethnic cleansing of Azerbaijani people by Armenia, and Armenia'sterritorial claims against Azerbaijan, which are the source of theconflict in the region.

According to the statement, disregarding approximately 4,000Azerbaijanis who went missing due to Armenia's 30-year militaryoccupation of Azerbaijani territories while focusing on missingArmenians constitutes double standards.

"At the same time, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces' localanti-terror measures on September 19–20, 2023, were distorted, andunfounded accusations were made against our country, while thesemeasures were meant to eliminate military threats and illegalmilitary formations. The smooth incorporation of Armenian Karabakhpeople into Azerbaijani society was also underappreciated.

While bilateral negotiations are improving relations betweenArmenia and Azerbaijan, particularly in border delimitation anddemarcation, the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg and its patronswant to interfere in the region and derail the peace process.

The Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies' lack of reluctance tounderstand reality is shown by this discriminatory approach to ourcountry, which the Committee on International Relations andInter-Parliamentary Affairs firmly rejects," the statementconcluded.
