(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. During the 10thsession of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between thegovernments of Azerbaijan and Hungary, an Azerbaijani-Hungarianbusiness forum was convened in Baku, jointly organized by theAzerbaijani Export and investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) andthe Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA), Trend reports.
The event was attended by 55 companies from both states,specializing in water, agriculture, ICT, healthcare, automotive,pharmaceuticals, construction, financial, and other sectors.
Addressing the business forum, co-chairman of theintergovernmental commission from Azerbaijan, Minister of Labor andSocial Protection Sahil Babayev, emphasized that relations betweenthe two countries are at the highest level, in particular, due tothe signing of the Joint Declaration on Expanded StrategicPartnership a year ago.
According to Babayev, about 20 business forums, meetings, andother events have been held in Baku and Budapest in the previousyear.
"As for strategic gas cooperation, Azerbaijan (represented bySOCAR Trading) supplied 50 million cubic meters of gas to Hungaryin 2023," the minister added.
The Executive Director of AZPROMO, Yusif Abdullayev, presentedinformation on Azerbaijan's investment potential and the privilegescreated for investors at the forum.
HEPA CEO Gabor Jenei, in turn, underlined the importance oforganizing such events and the positive results achieved.
Chairman of the Management Board of the Small and MediumBusiness Development Agency (KOBIA), Orkhan Mammadov, spoke aboutthe agency's activities and support measures that serve toestablish ties between businessmen.
To note, Baku hosted the 10th session of the Joint Commission onEconomic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan andHungary.
The one-on-one meeting was attended by a delegation headed byHungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó anda delegation headed by Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and SocialProtection Sahil Babayev. The parties discussed the present statusof relations between the two nations and the topics slated for themeeting agenda.
