Turkey’s benchmark stock index record modest soar of 0.17 percent on Monday


(MENAFN) As Monday's trading session commenced, Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 7,784.33 points, reflecting a modest increase of 0.17 percent or 12.99 points from the previous day's closing.

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul, which concluded Friday's trading at 7,771.34 points, experienced a marginal decline of 0.89 percent, accompanied by a noteworthy daily trading volume of 74 billion Turkish liras, which is equivalent to USD2.5 billion.

At 10:00 AM regional time (0700 GMT), the exchange rate for the US dollar against the Turkish lira was 28.5890. At the same time, the euro to lira rate stood at 30.5625, and the British pound was trading at 34.9894 liras.

In the commodities market, Brent crude oil was priced at around USD80.94 per barrel. In addition, the market rate for an ounce of gold was USD1,942.95, providing insights into the ongoing dynamics of Turkey’s financial landscape at the start of the week.
