Halloween party shootings in 2 US states leave 3 dead, 26 injured
(MENAFN) Early on Sunday morning during Halloween parties in Florida and Indiana, tragic incidents occurred, resulting in a total of three fatalities and 26 individuals sustaining injuries.
In Tampa, Florida, at approximately 3 am, a dispute between two groups outside a bar escalated into gunfire, leading to two fatalities and 18 wounded individuals, as reported by the police during a press conference held several hours afterward.
“It was a disturbance or a fight between two groups. And in this fight between two groups we had hundreds of innocent people involved that were in the way,” Tampa police head Lee Bercaw declared.
Video footage captured at the scene revealed numerous Halloween costume-clad bystanders socializing, drinking, and enjoying themselves outside a row of bars and clubs just before the shooting erupted. The chaotic scene witnessed many individuals panicking and fleeing, while others sought shelter behind overturned metal tables.
One male suspect voluntarily surrendered to authorities, but at least one more shooter remains at large. The victims who lost their lives were both adult males. Tampa police were present at the scene when the shooting occurred and are currently investigating the underlying cause of the altercation.
