São Paulo – On the morning of day one of the 2nd Global Halal Brazil Business Forum (GHB) held by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and certifier FAMBRAS Halal , a technical cooperation agreement focused on the Brazilian Northeast was penned. The document was signed by FAMBRAS Halal chairman Mohamed Zoghbi and Brazil Northeast Consortium secretary-executive Carlos Gabas. This memorandum will allow manufacturers of the nine Northeastern states to access information on the certification necessary to sell to Muslim countries, as well as providing the Consortium with a connection to trade promotion partners.“We'll share knowledge, expertise, and we also plan on collaborating by attracting foreign investments to the nine states of the Consortium,” summarizes Zoghbi.“Our expectations in this sense are optimistic. And as usual, we will spare no effort to collaborate with this region that's so full of potential. We've already identified opportunities in different domains, like foods and tourism.”

The GHB is supported by the International Halal Academy, the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the Union of Arab Chambers, and the Arab League, and it's held in partnership with the Brazilian Federal Government, Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and ApexBrasil.

Its sponsors are BRF, Marfrig, Minerva Foods, Laila Travel, Turkish Airlines, Brazilian Tourism Board (Embratur), Travel Plus, H2R Insights & Trends, World Logistic Passport (WLP), Bank ABC in Brazil, Seara, Pão & Arte, Cristal Plus, Pamunã Alimentos.
