"Pupils from three Sumgayit sports schools and several clubs, born in 2007-2008, have already begun active training in the judo hall at the Sumgayit City Stadium," he stressed.
Mammadov also pointed out that judo is not just a Sport but also a philosophy that teaches young people self-discipline, respect for their opponents, and the development of physical endurance.
Reconstruction of Sumgayit City Stadium named after Mehdi Huseynzade started in 2020; construction work was carried out in stages and completed in 2022.
The area of the stadium, with a capacity of 9,502 people, is 6.8 hectares. The stadium, which consists of 22 sectors, also has VIP and media stands for 545 people. The area is landscaped, and green areas have been created.
Judo, boxing, and karate halls will function on the premises under the structure. There are also two gyms, a conference hall for 40 people, administrative offices, rooms for journalists, referees, doctors, commentators, coaches, and other technical and auxiliary rooms.
