Ripple Executives' Unavailability Coincides With Bitcoin Halving


(MENAFN- CoinXposure) The April absence of Ripple's CEO brad garlinghouse and executive chairman Chris Larsen has been reported to the court.

This action responds to the court's directive for the final pretrial conference schedule and order.

Intriguingly, the dates announced by Ripple executives coincide with the Bitcoin halving.

The attorneys for Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen have informed Judge AnalTorres of the dates Ripple executives will be unavailable for pretrial proceedings.

A court filing indicates that Ripple executives will be unavailable for trial from April 1 to April 14, 2024.

Although the reason for their two-week unavailability is not specified, the timing coincides with the Bitcoin halving.

The Bitcoin Halving Countdown estimates that the reward will decrease to 3.125 BTC on April 14. The filing, however, was in response to an earlier pretrial scheduling order issued by Judge AnalTorres.

The court seeks to schedule a final pre-trial conference after establishing a trial date.

Typically, cryptocurrency values rise before Bitcoin's halving. Near the Bitcoin halving, Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen likely anticipate a tremendincrease in the price of xrp.

The current XRP price is $0.51, up only 0.5% in the last 24 hours and down 13% in the last week. The trading volume has decreased by 11% over the previtwenty-four hours.

After Judge Torres authorized theSEC's motion for an interlocutory appeal, prices plummeted.

Meanwhile, attorneys Caleb J. Robertson and Michael A. Schulman have filed to represent the Ripple CEO in the lawsuit against the sec.

AlyM. Hasbrouck, managing associate at Sidley Austin LLP, filed a petition to withdraw as counsel for Investment Banker Declarant in a separate court document.

Hasbrouck clarifies in a statement that she is quitting her position at Sidley Austin.

Recently, the court authorized Andrew A. Kunsak of Sidley Austin LLP to testify as an investment banker declarant in theSEC v. Ripple Labs case.
