EU cracks down on democracy in Moldova

(MENAFN) By restricting an important Moldovan antagonism character, the European Union is running together with the nation`s unpopular administration to smother opposition. When Western welfares are jeopardized, ‘European values’ becomes an adaptable phrase.

The European Union compelled restrictions on Ilan Shor previously the summer, accusing the Shor Party chief with no proof of operating with the Kremlin to “destabilize the Republic of Moldova” by prearranging demonstrations towards Leader Maia Sandu’s administration.

Shor as well as his deputy, Marina Tauber, launched applications to the European Union General Court the previous week to have the restrictions dismissed, debating that they were diplomatically driven.

“Unlike the sanctions created in respect of Russia, Belarus, Syria, Iran, and similar situations, the measures do not aim to put pressure on a foreign government, but rather to the contrary, aim to support that government against opposition forces,” Shor’s attorneys stated in a media announcement.
