Jordan, Yemen To Hold Joint Business Forum Next September-Acc

Amman, July 23 (Petra)--Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) discussed preparations to organize activities of the joint Jordanian-Yemeni business forum, in coordination with Yemeni embassy in Amman, next September.
The event is expected to see participation of about 250 Yemeni investors representing various sectors of Yemeni community in Arab and foreign countries.
In a statement on Sunday, the ACC said it agreed with Yemeni embassy in Amman to hold a consultative meeting for Jordanian trade sector and Yemeni investors residing in the Kingdom, next August, to discuss challenges and obstacles facing their businesses.
During their meeting, ACC Chairman, Khalil Haj Tawfiq, and Yemeni Ambassador, Jalal Faqira, also discussed formation of a Jordanian-Yemeni business council, aimed to strengthening cooperation relations among the two countries' business communities, enhancing economic, commercial and investment cooperation and developing joint work, which would serve and expand horizons of economic relations.
Hajj Tawfiq stressed importance of developing Jordanian-Yemeni economic and trade relations, improving level of their trade volume and building investment partnerships.
He also said the "distinguished" bilateral relations require development of the economic and commercial aspect, to meet aspirations, in addition to diversifying base of exchanged goods.
Hajj Tawfiq pointed to "strong" joint economic relations in services sector, especially in health and medical treatment fields.
Moreover, he stressed need to expand ties to cover tourism, information technology and foodstuff sectors and benefit from Jordan's technical expertise to develop and strengthen Yemen's capabilities in this field to serve public and private sectors.
