DPIIT, Gujarat govt jointly launches ODOP wall at Garvi Gujarat Bhawan in New Delhi
New Delhi, July 21 (KNN) The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in collaboration with the Gujarat government launched the ODOP Wall at Garvi Gujarat Bhawan in New Delhi on July 20, 2023.
The ODOP wall was launched with the aim to promote the indigenous crafts and artisans of the State. ODOP-Gujarat offers a rich collection of 68 unique products, from agricultural goods like groundnuts and cumin to traditional crafts like Gamthi Block print and Mata-ni-Pachedi.
The wall was launched by Manmeet Nanda, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, and Arti Kanwar, Resident Commissioner and Secretary (Economic Affairs), Finance Department, Government of Gujarat.
DPIIT and Gujarat government through their partnership intends to attract customers towards emporia, boosting sales, and increasing the visibility of Gujarat's products at the national level.
Interventions by the ODOP in Gujarat have been concentrated on certain products, in particular, to increase their market presence. For instance, Government e-Marketplace (GeM) on boarding drives have been conducted for Sujani Handloom, Jamnagari Bandhini, and Patan Patola.
The ODOP initiative aims to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's, vision of making the country and its people self-reliant by fostering balanced regional development across all districts of the country.
