Uae Pres. Underlines Strategic, Economic Partnerships With India

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ABU DHABI, July 15 (KUNA) -- UAE President Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday stressed the significance of comprehensive strategic and economic partnerships between the UAE and India.
The UAE president made the remark while meeting visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, pointing out mutual willingness to promote and develop bilateral relations to serve the interest of both countries' peoples, reported the country's official news agency.
He commended the positive outcomes of the bilateral economic partnership agreement that has been put in place since 2022, including a hike in non-oil trade to more than USD 50 billion.
This figure is jointly planned to hit USD 100 billion annually by 2030, the UAE leader remarked, according to the WAM.
For his part, the Indian prime minister, who is in Abu Dhabi on an official visit, spoke highly of the UAE president's persistent support for UAE-Indian relations and joint cooperation.
Modi underlined his keenness on working with the UAE leader to push forward and promote bilateral relations at different levels, particularly the fields that serve their developmental goals.
During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on a set of economic issues and the latest regional and international developments.
They also discussed the COP28 climate conference to be hosted by the UAE later this year, according to the agency. (end)
