Lebanese Army Stopped Israeli Breach Attempt At Blue Line

BEIRUT, Jul 6 (NNN-NNA) – The Lebanese army, yesterday, stopped an Israeli bulldozer, backed by a military force, from breaching the Blue Line, by digging at the“technical fence,” along the border.
The bulldozer was attempting to dig the road in the Karkazan area, in the town of Mays el-Jabal, but was forced by the Lebanese army to retreat.
A patrol of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon arrived and documented the breach, the report said.
Israel built the“technical fence” with electrified wires, along the 79-km border with Lebanon in 2001, about 50 metres south of the Blue Line, a demarcation line between Lebanon and Israel published by the United Nations in 2000.
The Lebanese-Israeli border has been mostly quiet since Israel fought a month-long war with Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group in Lebanon, in 2006.– NNN-NNA
