(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Officials said heavy rains and flash floods resulted in one fatality and three injuries on Sunday in the eastern province of Khost, Afghanistan. According to Kalim Gul Abid, the provincial director for the Natural Disaster Management Authority, one person was killed, and three others were injured due to heavy rains and flash floods in Khost Prince of Afghanistan.
The official also said that a child died and three were injured in the Garbaz district due to the Sunday rainstorms and flash floods in the Khost Province.
According to the officials, the floods also had financial damages, including destroying 25 residential houses in Khost city and another part of the province.
The flash floods killed five people earlier and injured two others in Paktika, Logar, Parwan, Nangarhar and Wardak provinces.
The floods also destroyed several residential houses and agricultural lands in these provinces.
In a similar incident in Nangarhar's eastern province, four persons were killed and injured 25 others.
According to Shafiullah Rahimi, a Natural Disaster Management Authority spokesman, natural catastrophes in Afghanistan have resulted in more than 150 fatalities and more than 220 injuries during the past three months.
