Putin presents specifics of draft treaty on Ukrainian neutrality

(MENAFN) Russian Leader Vladimir Putin stated on Saturday that Moscow as well as Kiev both approved on safety assurances and the over-all terms of Ukrainian neutrality throughout peace discussions in March last year, however, Kiev then shortly rejected the documents that its allocation had already been inked.

throughout a conference with a group of African leaders in St. Petersburg, Putin presented for the first time the draft documents that were being debated by the Russian as well as Ukrainian representatives in Turkey more than a year ago.

In line with Putin, a document named the Treaty on the Permanent Neutrality and Security Guarantees for Ukraine had been inked by the Ukrainian allocation.

The draft specifies that Ukraine must preserve “permanent neutrality” in its Constitution. Russia, the United States, Britain, China, as well as France are listed as sponsors.

An addition to the draft, also presented by Putin, outlines both Russian and Ukrainian suggestions concerning the size of Ukraine’s standing military during peacetime, and its gear.
