BRUSSELS - BCW has appointed Brussels healthcare lead Thomas Gelin to the newly-created position of head of health public affairs for Europe.
Gelin, who will continue to lead BCW's Brussels healthcare practice, joined the firm in 2021 following a decade in consulting and industry. He was previously Porter Novelli's Europe health policy lead and was a member of Sanofi's international public affairs team in Washington, DC.
BCW's Europe & Africa president Scott Wilson said:“Thomas is widely recognized as one of Europe's leading healthcare policy practitioners, with an enviable track record in leading multi-market teams and delivering impactful and award-winning campaigns. His health policy expertise puts BCW in an even stronger position to continue to grow and transform our healthcare offering, helping our clients meet and address emerging issues across Europe and beyond”.
Gelin added:“I am delighted to take on this new role at a time when healthcare organizations are increasingly looking for enhanced partnership and collaboration across the policy ecosystem. Clients are requesting integrated public affairs solutions across Europe that seamlessly connect the EU's political capitals.”
In his new role, Gelin will continue to report to BCW's Brussels CEO Andrew Cecil, who said:“Since joining BCW two years ago, Thomas has built a high performing team of health public affairs consultants, advising leading healthcare organisations on environment- shaping activities and the most pressing policy issues. I look forward to seeing how he will similarly innovate and scale our health public affairs offer across Europe.”
