To assess the progress of PM GatiShakti, the minister chaired a meeting with DPIIT and eight relevant ministries in New Delhi. He emphasized the importance of leveraging the integrated platform to accelerate India's infrastructure and economic growth.

The Minister emphasized that the Area Development Approach under PM GatiShakti could be employed to engage with aspirational districts identified by NITI Aayog. He emphasized the need to extend the benefits of PM GatiShakti beyond the infrastructure sector through effective utilization of the Area Development Approach.

The meeting included senior officials from DPIIT, M/o Road Transport and Highways, M/o Railways, M/o Ports, Shipping and Waterways, M/o Civil Aviation, M/o Power, M/o Petroleum and Natural Gas, Department of Telecommunication (DoT), M/o New and Renewable Energy, Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N), and National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC).

During the meeting, Ms. Sumita Dawra, Special Secretary, DPIIT, presented the progress of PM GatiShakti in terms of enhancing the data quality of the NMP, standardizing data layers, and establishing a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) mechanism for better planning.

To promote the use of NMP for social sector planning, five additional ministries are proposed to be integrated into PM GatiShakti, in addition to the fourteen social sector departments/ministries already on board. This expansion aims to enhance socioeconomic development in the country. DPIIT is also working towards improving the EXIM logistics while strengthening the domestic logistics ecosystem.

An EXIM Logistics Group has been formed in collaboration with other concerned departments/ministries to formulate and implement an action plan to enhance the country's performance on each parameter of the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) as per the World Bank report.

Efforts are underway to achieve end-to-end multi-modal cargo tracking by integrating the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) with GSTN data. Furthermore, capacity building of state-level officials is planned through training modules on PM GatiShakti at Central Training Institutes to foster understanding and adoption.

Launched in October 2021, PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) recognizes infrastructure as a growth engine and advocates for a holistic government approach to infrastructure development.
