ECB urges Eurozone banks to withdrew from Russia
(MENAFN) Eurozone banks should decrease their revelation to Russia or leave the nation completely, European Central Bank (ECB) head manager Andrea Enria stated throughout a media meeting on Tuesday.
Based on the representatives, investors are jeopardizing their names if they keep on working in the restricted district.
“I think that it is important that banks remain very focused on reducing further their exposures and, ideally, exiting the market as soon as they can,” Enria said, as quoted by a news agency.
He continued: “This is a process that we not only praise, but we strongly pressurize banks to perform because there is a huge reputational risk in continuing to operate in Russia.”
Enria recognized that Russian divisions of Eurozone banks have restricted their procedures, also for example are no longer giving away new loans. He also confessed that the procedure of leaving from Russia has become progressively harder because of additional regulation which contains an obligation for presidential consent.
