Doha, Qatar: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanem yesterday visited the Ministry's pavilion at the 32nd Doha International book Fair.
The Fair is being held under the slogan“With Reading We Rise” from June 12 to 21 at the Doha exhibition and convention Center (DECC).
Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs was briefed about participation and the most important publications and programmes offered to the public at the Ministry pavilion.
The Minister visited the corner of the Department of Islamic Affairs, the corner of the Department of Islamic Research and Studies, the corner of the Department of Call and Religious Guidance with its three sections, the Department of the Holy Qur'an and its sciences, the section of the Islamic Network Islam Web, which also includes a special corner for children“boys and girls”, and the section of religious guidance, the corner of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, the corner of the General Department of Endowments, and the corner of the Department of Zakat Affairs.
The Minister was accompanied during his tour by Khalid bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, the Assistant Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs.
The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs participates in a distinguished pavilion to introduce its scientific, jurisprudential, advocacy and endowment publications, through several corners of some departments that provide great services to the public.
The Ministry's pavilion's several sections include the corner of the Department of Islamic Affairs, which showcases the most important Islamic publications from the main books, along with books of Islamic heritage in jurisprudence, belief, interpretation, prophetic traditions, and the sciences of the Qur'an, as well as displaying the most prominent new publications.
The corner of the Department of Research and Islamic Studies displays Ummah Book series, the publications of the Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah International Endowment Award, and some other publications, and the distribution of some publications to the public.
There is also a corner for the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, which includes an introduction to its publications in different languages, and what it offers to the communities present on the land of Qatar in terms of awareness and educational programmes.
It presents the book Understanding Islam, in addition to a number of booklets that focus on specific aspects, to provide a clear picture of Islam and Muslims, and contribute to introducing non-Arabic speakers to Islamic and Qatari culture.
The Ministry's pavilion also includes a corner for the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance, which includes three sections.
