Jordan Red Crescent Society Celebrates 75Th Anniversary

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Deputising for his majesty King Abdullah, the honorary president of the Jordan Red Crescent Society (JRCS), healthMinister Firas Al Hawari on Saturday attended a JRCS ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of its establishment. Hawari received a souvenir delivered by the JRCS to His Majesty. The souvenir is a figurine of a falcon, representing strength, bravery and sublimity, and a banner of Prophet Mohammad, which is a main component of the emblem of the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

JRCS President Mohamed Hadid said that the 75th anniversary of the society constitutes a landmark in the history of this humanitarian organisation, which has faced several challenges, and yet was committed to providing its services as per international law, constitutions and laws so that the JRCS remains a symbol of hope and mercy. He noted that despite the scarcity of resources, Jordan has received refugee arrivals of various nationalities since 1948, and has provided them with livelihoods, comfort and safety.
