4.2 Earthquake In Veraguas

An earthquake of 4.2 degrees was reported in by the Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama, near noon on, Monday, May 1.

The Geosciences report indicated the tremor occurred at 12:22 pm, was located 36 kilometers from Santiago de Veraguas and at a depth of 13 kilometers.

Prior to the movement, Geosciences from the University of Panama also reported another previous movement in the same area, at 12:13 pm and with a magnitude of 4.0, according to the preliminary report.

Last Friday, April 28, the Institute confirmed the recording of an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 degrees 6 kilometers from the district of Arraiján, province of Panama West.
