(MENAFN- Caribbean News Global) CHINA / CUBA – Chinese Premier Li Qiang, received the leader of the Communist Party of Cuba (Spanish: Partido Comunista de Cuba, PCC) Roberto Morales, and both spoke of consolidating the links of economic and financial cooperation, as reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
During the meeting, the Asian dignitary reaffirmed the high importance that Beijing attaches to the development of relations with Havana and called for the strengthening of pragmatic collaboration to promote socialism and a community of shared destiny.
Li congratulated the Cuban head of state on his re-election to the post, considered that this action guarantees solid leadership and expressed confidence that the largest of the Antilles will achieve new and greater successes in the construction of the socialist cause.
He valued the visit of the Cuban party leader on last November as a reflection of the good relations between the two countries, as he was the first Latin American and Caribbean leader to travel to China after the 20th Congress of the Communist Party (CCP).
In his turn, the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organisation of the PCC Central Committee sent greetings from Raul Castro and Diaz-Canel to Xi and congratulated Li on his election as a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central CCP of China and premier of the country.
He reaffirmed the excellent state of ties between the two nations at the political and governmental levels, after expressing support for Chinese security and global civilisation initiatives.
The meeting with Li kicked off the second day of activities that Morales is carrying out as part of his visit to China, where he arrived at the head of a large delegation.
His programme includes meetings with authorities of the CCP, as well as exchanges of experience on the processes of building socialism.
China is the first stop on the Cuban leader's Asian tour, which will be another opportunity to raise political dialogue to the highest level and contribute to the continued development of economic, trade, financial and cooperation relations.
