Number Of Floods Across Ukraine Increased: Over 900 Households, Hundreds Of Buildings Affected


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) A total of 916 households and 225 houses (including 187 cottages) were remaining flooded in Ukraine as of 09:00 a.m., April 16, 2023.

The relevant statement was made by the ukrainian state emergency service , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“In the Volyn, Rivne and Cherkasy regions, a total of 10,747 hectares of agricultural lands were flooded. Transport services were interrupted across 30 settlements (29 in the Chernihiv region, one in the Kyiv region),” the report states.

To meet the needs of the affected population, rescuers delivered 24.1 tonnes of drinking water and 260 kilograms of food products. A total of 1,344 persons were transported through water obstacles and 22 people were evacuated. A total of 10,570 cubic meters of water was pumped out from 79 households.

In order to monitor and coordinate actions in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, mobile operative teams of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service are using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to make an aerial reconnaissance of the flooded areas.

Additionally, five Bohun swamp-going vehicles and 10 vessels were sent to the Chernihiv region.

A reminder that, as of 04:00 p.m., April 15, 2023, about 600 households were flooded across 14 settlements in Ukraine.
