Grand Opening Program Set For New Senior Living Community In York

The Grand Opening Program will be held on April 20 at the IntegraCare-operated senior living community located at 2200 Springwood Road in York Township. Check-in for dignitaries and IntegraCare team members begins at 11 a.m. with the program set to start at approximately 11:45 a.m.

Pennsylvania State Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill, 28th District, York County, is among the dignitaries who will participate in the grand opening program.

The Residence at Fitz Farm has 130 apartments of Independent Living, Personal Care and Memory Care. The 16.5-acre site of the new building is situated on land once farmed by four generations of the Fitz family, known throughout the region for harvesting produce such as strawberries and their specialty, white celery. The Fitz Family will be represented by Don Fitz during the event.

The four-story, 124,000 square foot senior living facility was constructed through a joint venture of IntegraCare and Avenue Development, which is headquartered in Indianapolis.

“The Residence at Fitz Farm will help meet the needs of seniors and their families throughout York County,” said York County President Commissioner Julie Wheeler, who will participate in the Grand Opening event.“The new senior living community is a state-of-the-art facility with strong ties to the historic Fitz Family Farm that served our county for more than a century.”

The senior living community features one- and two-bedroom units. Amenities include physical fitness and therapy areas, a beer rathskeller, a theater, hair salon, library, card room and a bistro.

The Dallastown Area Middle School Marching Band and the Craig Satchell Jazz & Swing Ensemble also will perform during the program.
