Kremlin Trying To Portray Situation In Ukraine As Being Normalized - British Intelligence

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The choice of Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev as speaker at the April meeting of the Russian Security Council was an attempt to present the situation in the annexed territories of Ukraine as being normalized.

The British Ministry of Defense reported this on twitter with reference to intelligence data, Ukrinform saw.

On April 5, 2023, the president of the aggressor state, Vladimir Putin, held a full meeting of the Security Council, for the first time since October 2022.

The main report at the meeting was presented by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vladimir Kolokoltsev. He spoke of reconstruction, law enforcement and public order in the illegally-annexed territories of Ukraine.

"The choice of Kolokoltsev as the main speaker is likely an attempt by the Kremlin to portray the situation in those territories as being normalized," British intelligence believes.

In reality, much of the territory remains an active combat zone, subject to partisan attacks and with extremely limited access to basic services for many citizens.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in a previous summary, British intelligence reported that Moscow failed to bring the unified energy system of Ukraine to collapse in the fall and winter, so this campaign was effectively curtailed.
