Father Arrested for Murder after 2-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Alligator's Mouth

Date:

(MENAFN) St. Petersburg, Florida, was the site of a tragic incident where a two-year-old boy was found dead in the mouth of an alligator in a recreation area, marking an end to a search that began when his mother was found slain in their apartment earlier this week. Taylen Mosley's body was found after detectives spotted an alligator with an object in its mouth. As they approached, they fired one round at the alligator, which allowed them to retrieve the boy's body intact. The exact cause of Taylen's death remains unknown, while his mother, Pashun Jeffery, was found stabbed multiple times.

The boy's father, 21-year-old Thomas Mosley, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Jeffery and their son. Jeffery and her son had last been seen by family members on Wednesday, and neighbors reported hearing a loud commotion later that evening. However, police were not called to the scene. Jeffery's mother contacted the apartment complex property manager the next day after not hearing from her daughter, and that's when they found her dead.

The FBI and Florida Department of Law Enforcement had joined local authorities in the search for Mosley, which included dive teams looking in lakes in the area, as well as drones doing a grid search. Mosley went to his mother's house on Wednesday night with cuts on his arms and hands and then admitted himself to a local hospital.

The incident highlights the tragic loss of life and the need for safety measures to protect individuals from harm. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and officials are closely monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, the destructive weather that hit multiple states on Friday caused several fatalities, including the roof collapse of a theater in Illinois during a heavy metal concert. The incident is a reminder of the importance of safety measures and the need to be aware of the dangers of severe weather.
