Slovakia Provides Military Assistance To Ukraine For 10% Of Its Defense Budget - Kondratiuk

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Deputy speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, Olena Kondratiuk, thanked Slovakia for the comprehensive military, humanitarian and political support provided since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion.

"I am glad to meet with Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Boris Kollar. The best help is the help provided on time! Ukraine is grateful to Slovakia for comprehensive military, humanitarian and political support, which has been provided since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion," Kondratiuk posted on Facebook.

She noted that Slovakia provided military assistance to Ukraine for 10% of its defense budget and is among the top ten countries in terms of this indicator. Kondratiuk and the Speaker of the National Council of Slovakia discussed the issue of Ukraine's accession to the European Union. The Ukrainian deputy speaker thanked Slovakia for supporting Ukraine's application and accelerated membership.

According to her, Kollar emphasized that the Slovak Council will welcome Ukraine as a full member of the European Union if all accession conditions are met.

"On behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I thanked the National Council of Slovakia for the decisive political support of the Ukrainian people. The Parliament of Slovakia took a clear stance by passing resolutions condemning Russia's aggression and recognizing the Russian regime as a terrorist one, and the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism," Kondratiuk said.

She added that the Slovak parliament supports the creation of a special international tribunal for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine and condemns Russia's nuclear blackmail.

In addition, Kondratiuk expressed gratitude for the resolution adopted on March 28 to protect Ukrainian children abducted by Russia and forcibly deported, demanding their immediate return home.

As Ukrinform reported, Slovakia handed over the first four MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in March.
