Greta Thunberg Deletes 2018 Tweet Warning of Climate Change Catastrophe by 2023

(MENAFN) Greta Thunberg, the well-known Swedish climate activist, has deleted a tweet she posted in 2018 warning that climate change could "wipe out all of humanity" unless fossil fuels were abolished by 2023. In the tweet, Thunberg quoted a "top climate scientist" as stating that "climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years". However, the website linked to in the tweet no longer exists, and it is unclear when Thunberg deleted the tweet. Conservative commentators, including US activist Brigitte Gabriel, criticised Thunberg for deleting the tweet, and suggested that it was evidence of her being a "fraud".

However, some commenters suggested that Thunberg's tweet may not have been predicting the end of humanity in 2023, but rather claiming that the human race faces extinction at some point in the future if fossil fuels are not eliminated by this year. Thunberg has not responded to the criticism of her tweet.
