Doha: Four Qatar-based chefs have become part of an upcoming United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) global cookbook: My Food Story with a Fork and the Road.

Chefs Aisha Al Tamimi, Jameel Nabtiti, Ritika Williams, and Murat Yilmaz will be part of the book that will celebrate the diversity of US agriculture, farmers and cuisine.

USDA Dubai recently hosted 'My Food Story' event in Doha to launch 'My Food Story Coffee Table Book in Qatar,' to recognize the four chefs who cooked at the US Pavilion during Qatar 2022 FIFA World cup, and to include it in the book.

Regional Agricultural Counselor at USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, Valerie Brown; Deputy Chief of US Mission in Doha, Natalie Baker; were joined by food industry experts, chefs, food influencers and several others during the event held at Fairmont Doha.

According to Valerie Brown, the book speaks of the beauty of a diverse country, and the strong cultural ties between the US and the rest of the world.

She also said that“My Food Story” offers food enthusiasts, under different categories, the opportunity to share their food stories including interesting information such as when and how did they fell in love with food; what are their food memories.

It speaks to the beauty of a diverse country, and the strong cultural ties between the United States and the rest of the world. This project will culminate in an international coffee table cookbook featuring executive chefs from US missions around the world, home cooks, influencers, and young student chefs,” Natalie Baker told The Peninsula.

The Regional USDA Office of Agricultural Affairs in Dubai and US Embassy in Doha are planning this international project in collaboration with USDA Offices in Paris, Lima, Pretoria, Tokyo, Bangkok and more.

Ritika Williams one of the four chefs to be included in the book said,“I'm delighted to be featured in the upcoming USDA book, my association with USDA and the US Embassy in Qatar has been a humbling experience.”
