6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southern Philippines
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck Davao de Oro province in the southern Philippines on Tuesday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology stated that the quake occurred 13 km west of Maragusan town at a depth of 34 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage caused by the earthquake so far.
The Philippines is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire where about 90% of the world's earthquakes occur.
