Annual Fundraising Drive Is Launched By The Zakat Fund And Abu Dhabi University
(MENAFN- Asdaf News) Abu Dhabi – Asdaf News: For the thirteenth year in a row, the Zakat Fund and Abu Dhabi University (ADU) have launched the program“Our Youth Our Responsibility, Our Zakat Our Immunity” to support both domestic and international students.
The program has given financial aid to 3,980 students and raised more over AED75 million since it began. The fund's goal for this year is to lessen the financial burden on 1,000 meritorious students who qualify for zakat assistance.
Dr. Mohammed Sulieman Al Balushi, Acting Secretary-General of Zakat Fund, commented,“For the past twelve years, the initiative has continued to raise funds to support deserving and eligible students. This has been made possible through the joint efforts of the Zakat Fund and Abu Dhabi University. For over a decade, our combined efforts have supported the UAE's education system by providing valuable academic opportunities for young people.”
He added,“We look forward again to extending our support to as many local and expatriate students as possible who meet the zakat requirements according to the approved regulations of the Zakat Fund. The initiative has allocated AED60 million each academic year, covering students tuition fees throughout their study at Abu Dhabi University. The Zakat Fund has taken multiple measures to ensure that funds reach those that are most in need.”
Dr. Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi University, has reiterated Abu Dhabi University's commitment to building strategic partnerships with leading organisations like the Zakat Fund. The initiative has supported deserving undergraduate students in Abu Dhabi University's Abu Dhabi or Al Ain campuses. Abu Dhabi University and the Zakat Fund will continue to work together towards this end.
The two parties also stated their desire to inspire UAE citizens, authorities, and businesses to make significant gifts that will aid young people in realizing their academic objectives at ADU and their long-term aspirations.
By sending their contributions to the Zakat Fund or Abu Dhabi University in accordance with the slogan“Our Youth Our Responsibility, Our Zakat Our Immunity,” donors can make cash or bank check donations.–WAM
