Brazilian ambassador to Iran calls for increased trade relations

(MENAFN) Brazilian Ambassador to Iran Laudemar Gonsalves de Aguiar Neto has emphasized the need to improve bilateral trade between Tehran and Brasília, citing the Brazilian government's efforts to boost trade with Iran. During a trip to Abadan in Khuzestan Province, southwestern Iran, Aguiar met with reporters and stated that economic plans have been put in place to enhance mutual economic ties between the two nations.

He added that business people from both countries would interact with each other according to an economic schedule. The Iran-Brazil Joint Chamber of Commerce aims to create the Brazilian trade desk in the Abadan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, which is expected to yield positive results. The ambassador revealed that a memorandum of understanding would be prepared by the officials of Abadan city and that Brazil is also interested in cooperating with Iran in the fields that the latter expects, such as agriculture, tourism, oil and petrochemical industries, sports, and fisheries.

The mayor of Abadan, Yasin Kaveh-Pour, who accompanied the ambassador during his city tour, noted that the groundwork for cooperation between Abadan and Brazil has already been laid, and the two sides can expand their ties in cultural, sports, and economic fields.
