Doha: Hosted by comedian, actor, and writer Mo Amer and co-produced by Qatar Foundation's Doha Debates and Endeavor's film 45, new episodes of the marquee programme will be filmed in front of a live studio.

Each episode will feature discussions between celebrities and expert guests who seek to find common ground on some of the most pressing global issues of our time.

The first episode of the new season will film on March 15, with seven additional episodes filming through to March 20 for worldwide release this year. Students in Education City are among the first to receive exclusive invitations from Doha Debates to join the studio audience.

“Sitting at the confluence of cultures and continents, Northwestern Qatar actively creates and disseminates knowledge through its teaching, research, and public engagement,” said Marwan M. Kraidy, Dean and CEO of Northwestern Qatar.

“As a global community of evidence-based story tellers, we provide a world class professional education grounded in the liberal arts. The future of higher education is global, digital, and multidisciplinary. We at Northwestern Qatar are at the forefront of global education, and welcome partners like Doha Debates who can amplify our mission.”

Through live debates, town halls, podcasts, films, and educational content, QF's Doha Debates empowers a new generation of leaders to bridge divides, find common ground, and work together to address the world's biggest challenges. The organization's flagship debate series-as well as its other content-is modeled after majlis-style debates, which create a welcoming, solutions-oriented space for participants with diverse viewpoints to discuss timely issues and events.

“We are excited and grateful to be filming the new season of Doha Debates at Northwestern University in Qatar,” said Amjad Atallah, Managing Director of Doha Debates.

“The university's diverse, vibrant campus and its commitment to outstanding media and communication programs makes it an ideal venue for the series. We're looking forward to welcoming the leaders of the future – students from Northwestern Qatar and all across Education City – into our live audience.”
