Clean Candles: UAE's Eco-Friendly and Aesthetically Pleasing Trend
(MENAFN) Consumers are becoming more conscious of the ingredients in the products they buy, and this trend is extending to candles. UAE entrepreneurs are leading the way in the creation of "clean candles", which are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly.
These entrepreneurs are raising awareness of the chemical-free trend through social media, while also profiting from their passion for candle-making.
Daria Likhobabina and Iryna Kolomiiets, who launched their brand Southward in November, explain their motivation for creating clean candles: "We have always admired scented candles... However, it came as a shock when we realised that the majority of the candles on the market are paraffin-based, which can be toxic to humans and are a less sustainable option for our environment." The process of creating their clean candles took six months, which included testing various moulds, selecting the best natural wax, picking essential oils, and trialling the final product to ensure that every part of the candle is organic.
One popular silhouette among candle makers around the world is the bubble candle, which features a cube shape with bubble-like balls stuck together. Southward and other candle brands in the UAE, such as Melt and Shape Candles, are making neutral-toned bubble candles in both fist-sized and miniature versions.
These candles use a vegan, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly soy blend. Muse Candles, which uses 100% soy wax, takes the trend up a notch with heart-shaped bubbles. Some candles feature several colours, while others are topped with dried flowers. Other romantic shapes from this home-grown brand include cherubs, seashells, and candy heart wax melts – ideal for Valentine’s Day gifting.
The trend towards clean candles reflects a growing awareness of the impact of consumer choices on the environment and personal health. As more consumers seek products that are safe, sustainable, and eco-friendly, entrepreneurs are responding with creative and beautiful alternatives to traditional paraffin-based candles.
The clean candle trend in the UAE is just one example of how the market is evolving to meet the demands of conscious consumers.
