HBKU QEERI Senior Scientist Named IChemE Fellow


(MENAFN- Hamad Bin Khalifa University) Doha, February 12, 2023 – Dr. Abdulkarem Amhamed, Senior Scientist and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) Cluster Program Director at Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), has been made a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).
This exclusive honor is the highest professional qualification award that IChemE bestows upon individuals who have made a significant contribution to the chemical engineering profession and demonstrated leadership and commitment to the advancement of research and development.
“I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award. Chemical engineering plays a crucial role in addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges, and I am committed to helping advance the field and make a positive impact on society,” said Dr. Amhamed.
Dr. Amhamed is a leading expert in carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and utilization with more than 22 years of experience in the energy sector. Aside from his duties at HBKU’s QEERI, he serves as Regional Editor, Middle East, for the international multidisciplinary journal Green Technology, Resilience, and Sustainability (Springer Nature) and as an Editorial Board Member on the Journal of Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Sciences (Ology Journals).
