Kuwaiti Medical Team Arrives In Southern Turkiye To Operate On Earthquake Victims

ANKARA, Feb 11 (KUNA) - The Kuwaiti Shifa medical team arrived Saturday in Southern Turkiye to treat victims of the quake-victims.
Head of the team Dr. Ibrahim Al-Tawalah told KUNA that the Kuwaiti Shifa team that this medical trip comes in response to the official directives to provide support to those impacted by the earthquakes that struck southern Turkiye.
He said that they arrived Saturday in the Turkish province of Hatay to contribute to the efforts to rescue those affected by the earthquake that struck southern Turkey, with the support of Kuwait's Zakat House.
The team contains a medical staff that includes specializations in bone fracture surgeries, hand surgery, burn and plastic surgery, emergency medicine, as well as a team of paramedics, he mentioned.
It is specialized in relief and has seven years of experience in relief work for Syrian refugees in the southern regions of Turkiye, during which it conducted over 330 surgeries and treated more than 8,200 patients, he indicated.
He thanked Zakat House for their unlimited support to the team and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defense for facilitating the procedures for the relief trip, commending the role of the Kuwaiti embassy in Turkiye for its interest and care. (end) akw.lr
